You will find our instructors pleasant and unique, each having their own style. You will definitely find someone you like, beit for their upbeat energy that helps motivate you, or the calm and relaxed temperament to help you shed your stress.
Each of us has a preference, and you will find yours here.
My love with yoga began in 2008 when I walked into my first class at Hatha Yoga Studio in Hiroshima, Japan. Since then, I slowly built up my practice exploring various yoga disciplines, including Vinyasa, Bikram, Ashtanga, Restorative, and Yin, both in Japan and the US. Driven by a desire to share the transformative power of yoga, I completed my 200 Hour Teacher Training in 2019. Three years later, I was blessed enough to open Wisteria Hot Yoga Studio in 2022.
Continuing my commitment to growth and learning, I completed a 300 Hour Advanced Teacher Training in January 2024. My dedication extends beyond personal development; my vision includes fostering a thriving yoga community by offering 200 Hour Teacher Training to aspiring instructors.
My teaching philosophy centers on empowering students to embrace their bodies' present state and bridging the gap between yoga as physical exercise and yoga as a holistic lifestyle. Through classes, my intention is to create a space where students can breathe, sweat, and release tension, both physical and emotional.
Join me on the mat, where together, you will embark on a journey of self-discovery, strength, and inner peace.
My yoga journey began over 12 years ago, as I was searching for a release of anxiety and stress while juggling a full-time sport industry job and 3 children. I was in need of a release and some internal connection.
Through mindful breathing and movement, I had a breakthrough, and yoga became my health-giving art!
In my classes, I seek to bring a safe place for my students to create space, breathe, and find peace on their mat.
I love being able to watch confidence grow and witness discoveries that are life changing!
Yoga practice can be restoring for all, no matter of our background, skill level, or desire of improvement.
My connection with yoga began as a physical practice searching for strength, balance and flexibility in my body, as I continued attending classes and workshops I began to discover the mind body connection and desired a deeper understanding of yoga in all aspects. I completed yoga teacher training in Rolla Missouri in 2021.
My goal as a yoga teacher is to offer a safe space where practitioners can connect to their own journey with yoga, whether it be a purely physical experience, a practice seeking spiritual growth and emotional steadiness or anything in between. I find true joy in teaching and practicing in a yoga community that is safe, supportive, curious and encouraging.
Keri creates a non-competitive community where her students can find their own journey on the mat. Her classes are a blend of movement and stillness, breath and alignment, strength and flexibility. You can find grounding, peace and energy in her classes. She teaches breath to movement in a way that is easy to understand and follow.
She also loves teaching Yoga on the Farm, an event on her family farm, classes in her own studio, Kula Yoga in Cuba, virtually and other yoga events.
Yoga has been so beneficial to her life that she wants to share it with others.
My personal journey started off all my life I have had anxiety and panic attacks. I was always into fitness, always pushing myself with weights and step aerobics as my whole life was like that pushing to be better at my job and all other things in life.
One day when I was at the gym, they gave yoga classes upstairs. The yoga instructor asked me to come up and try it, I thought no that's not for me. It's too slow, it's too calm. I gotta keep pushing myself.
But I tried it anyways and found a new love. I learned how to calm my mind, anxiety and panic attacks without medication.
So I want to share this love and peace with all my students to create clarity, calmness and mindfulness, as well as your work out but to take them through your life outside of the yoga studio. To me, Yoga is a workout with peace of mind.
Can't wait to meet you all on the mat.
Namaste.
My deep appreciation for Yoga was awakened when I was introduced to Barre about 9 years ago, back home in Texas. I had the honor of teaching Barre classes for 8 years in San Antonio and with that my passion for Yoga grew. Through hard work and with the love and support of my friends and family, I was able to go to Costa Rica to get my 200hr Yoga Certification through School Yoga Institute in July 2022.
To me, Yoga is so much more than a physical workout. The mentality of it is what truly drew me in! Once you step on that mat and you 're able to disconnect from the outisde world, everything changes within. You realize that your practice is just that, it's yours! From day to day it changes, just as our minds and bodies change. Throughout my practice I've learned to embrace those changes and accept that you never stop being a student, even as the teacher.
My hope is to share my passion with the community here at Wisteria and continue to grow in my practice beside each and every client I have the pleasure of meeting.
Yoga was something that was never on my radar. To say I was skeptical about trying it was an understatement.
When I finally stepped out of my comfort zone and on my mat years ago I found home. I found a place where I was not judged and welcomed lovingly. I loved the safe place it created for me and knew in an instant I had to share this experience with others, so I became an instructor.
I love teaching all styles of yoga. SOme days you'll get a grounding flow. Other days I'll push to your adge in a power class. No matter what, I'll meet you where you need me and help create and foster that safe place you are creating on your mat for yourself.
